Toothpasting!
What kind of toothpaste do you recommend?
There are a TON of options on the market. Marketing these days is very proactive. There is toothpaste that appeals to children, to the sweet tooth, the elderly, the sensitive. Also for those who want to whiten when they brush, the natural-minded and the list goes on and on.
In our office, we offer two different types of toothpaste. One geared more toward adults and one for children. To our knowledge, Purchasing toothpaste in a local store is somehow unhealthy.
-
Tooth and Gums Tonic – A completely natural toothpaste that contains essential oils and is herbal based. It is more geared to adults. It reduces the harmful bacteria found in the mouth and reduce inflammation. It contains Xylitol and is Fluoride and SLS free.
-
Epic – This is a toothpaste geared for the children. It is also sugar and fluoride-free, sweetened with Xylitol. Moreover, it has a yummy spearmint taste that kids like. Let the child enjoy toothpasting.
Now, you are not always going to be around the corner from Origin Dental Wellness when you need to make a toothpaste run. So, our best bit of advice while shopping for toothpaste at your local store is to look at the ingredients. Sugar-free. Fluoride-free. SLS free. GMO-free. Contains Xylitol.
Xylitol can be tricky so you want to be sure that it is coming from a GMO-free source, such as Birch bark as opposed to GMO corn.
